I'm Barb Gormley, and for over 15 years I've been helping people get fit, feel healthier and younger, and look great.

How it works

I typically coach clients in their homes or condo exercise rooms once or twice a week. They then exercise independently one to two additional times per week. Some clients have loads of exercise equipment; in other cases I provide equipment or recommend equipment purchases. (It's also possible to have a great workout with little more than a mat and running shoes.)

A Fitness Program designed Just for You

Here's how we'll get started:

  1. First, give me a call or drop me an email. I'll get right back to you so we can discuss your situation. If you prefer, I'm also happy to meet in person for a complimentary 30-minute consultation.
  2. Next, complete my quick Client Information Form (which tells me basic information about you, your health status and goals).

       3. Let's get moving!:

Session 1 : We'll start with a short assessment to benchmark your current fitness level. Together we'll set some realistic and tangible goals. I'll leave you with a mini-program to practise over the week.

Session 2: I'll bring your custom fitness program (designed using the Session 1 information). We'll practise the exercises together. Your program card will have lots of notes and images to help you recall the exercises when you're exercising on your own.

Session 3 and 4: We'll work out any issues, make any revisions and start polishing your technique.

Session 5 to 8: Each month I'll revise your workout just enough to keep it fresh and challenging. At session 8 or so, we'll reassess your fitness level to check your progress. Expect to feel more energetic, more limber, stronger and healthier!

Why my program will work for you

  1. I roll up my sleeves
    Some personal trainers give every new client the same standard “getting started” program. Over the years, I’ve discovered that few of us are standard—most people have a wonky knee or hip or an achy shoulder. I consider your unique heath status, strengths, goals and preferences when I'm designing your program.
     
  2. You and Iwe’re a team
    To be sure all is well, I'll occasionally quickly check in with you by text, email or phone. When holidays, business travel or a house full of company threaten to kick you off track, we come up with a strategy to keep you focused on your new healthy lifestyle.
     
  3. I’m a chameleon
    It's important that our personalities and styles mesh, so I work hard to give you the version of me that's best for you. I can hoot, holler and high-five with the best of them. But I’m equally comfortable dialing down the energy and pace. I present myself in a manner that I think best suits your style, health status and personality.
     
  4. We're both committed

Pricing

  • 2 sessions   = $85 per session (plus HST) 
  • 3+ sessions = $80 per session (plus HST)
