Barb Gormley is the owner of Toronto-based CustomFit Personal Training and a professional health and fitness writer.

Over the past 20 years, she has worked in some of the city’s most prestigious fitness clubs, managed a large corporate fitness centre and travelled the province training and certifying hundreds of fitness professionals.

Today, Barb specializes in one-on-one personal training in her clients' homes or condo fitness centres. She is also the head walking coach for JeansMarines and the Ontario master trainer for Nordic walking company Urban Poling.

Barb studied magazine writing at Ryerson University and has written extensively for publications such as Chatelaine, Chatelaine.com, Elevate, Fitness Business Canada, Active Woman Canada and Diabetes Dialogue.

She is also the managing editor of Fitness Business Canada, the country’s leading magazine for fitness professionals.
