Nordic Walking Toronto Classes
New to Nordic walking? Start with a Quick-Start Clinic and learn the fundamentals in a relaxed, supportive setting.
I’m Barb Gormley, and I offer Nordic walking Toronto classes in Mount Pleasant Cemetery and High Park for beginners and experienced Nordic walkers. Nordic walking is a full-body walking technique using specially designed poles. It improves posture, strength, and cardiovascular fitness and is gentle on the joints.
My classes help people stand taller, feel stronger, and discover a more engaging way to walk while enjoying nature.
What is Nordic Walking?
Nordic walking uses specially designed poles (not hiking poles!) and a proven technique to engage your arms and core muscles, along with your legs, turning an ordinary walk into a full-body workout.
It is especially helpful for:
improving overall fitness
supporting joint health
improving posture
building strength and endurance

My classes are suitable for:

People also enjoy the social side of my classes. They’re a fun way to be active outdoors and meet new people.

About Barb Gormley
I’m Barb Gormley, a Nordic walking instructor based in Toronto, offering classes at Mount Pleasant Cemetery and High Park for beginners and experienced Nordic walkers.
Before becoming an instructor, I tried to teach myself Nordic walking and struggled with it. Even as an experienced fitness instructor, I was frustrated and unsure what I was missing.
I learned that Nordic walking is not intuitive. It requires instruction to get the technique right and unlock its full benefits.
After taking a lesson, everything changed and I had an aha moment! The movement became more natural, enjoyable, and far more effective. I was eager to share it with my fitness clients and community.
Good instruction builds confidence and ensures you get the full benefits, from better posture to improved fitness and greater enjoyment of movement.
